Reputation is the product
Peritelos is a marketplace, not a consulting, law, accounting or investment advisory firm. Nothing on the platform, including the Concierge assistant, is legal, tax, accounting or investment advice. In this prototype, checks are simulated by the admin console.
Trust in 30 seconds
- Every accepted credential is checked against the issuer's public registry and shown with a Verified on date.
- Experts work only within the scope of their credential, and they are independent contractors, not Peritelos employees.
- Every engagement gets a mutual NDA and a scoped SOW before work starts.
- Payments are funded milestone by milestone (30/40/30), held by Stripe and released on approval or after a 48-hour review window.
- Disputes put the payment on hold, then go to good-faith talks, founder mediation and, if needed, arbitration.

Experts are independent contractors, not employees or agents of Peritelos. Clients should confirm that the expert's credential and scope fit their needs before engaging.

Tier 1 plus background check, reference checks, portfolio review and a founder-led case-study / mock scoping evaluation.
Tier 2 plus verified active E&O / professional liability insurance and a track record of completed on-platform engagements with high ratings.

What verification means, and scope limits
What verification means
- We verify that the credential exists and was in good standing on the date checked.
- We do not verify competence, the quality of an expert's work, or good standing after the date checked.
- A credential is not a recommendation or endorsement by Peritelos.
- Credentials are re-verified at least every 12 months and when they expire or renew. Experts must tell us if a credential lapses or is disciplined; we suspend or delist the profile while we check.
- Credentials awaiting checks show "Verification pending", and the profile is not public until they are verified.
- Unverified: Highlights, past clients and other non-credential claims are provided by the expert and are not verified.
Clients should confirm that the expert's credential and scope fit their needs before engaging.
Scope limits (a condition of listing)
Experts may only offer services within their credential and license. Experts must not offer audit/attest work (CPA), investment advice without registration (CFP/CFA), legal advice without a license (everyone but attorneys), or any other regulated service they are not authorized to provide.

Government ID matched to the person behind the profile.
Credential verified
License or certification checked in the issuer's public registry, with the date checked, the expiry date tracked and periodic re-verification.
Background check
Background screening plus reference checks from past clients or employers.
E&O insurance
Certificate of insurance reviewed, with renewal tracked before it expires.
Seniority levels
Senior Advisor · Specialist · Analyst. Clients can filter by seniority and price point.
Earned platform badges
Enterprise-Ready · High-Growth Scaling Specialist · Crisis Management Expert. These are awarded only from completed on-platform engagements and client feedback.

Reviews from real engagements only
Only clients with a completed, paid engagement can leave a review. If an expert falls below 4.8 stars or receives a substantiated complaint, they go on probation or are suspended pending review.
Conflict-of-interest checks
Clients list competitors and sensitive parties, and experts attest that no conflict exists before the NDA and briefing.
Protected milestone payments
Each milestone payment is processed and held by our payment processor, Stripe, and released on approval, or automatically once the 48-hour review window closes. Peritelos is not an escrow agent or a bank.
Dispute resolution
If a dispute is opened, the milestone payment stays on hold with Stripe. The parties try to resolve it in good faith, then the founding team mediates, and arbitration is available if needed.
First-milestone refund
If the first milestone does not meet the SOW acceptance criteria and the dispute is upheld, it is refunded under the refund terms.
Insurance & indemnity
Experts in high-stakes categories carry their own E&O insurance and indemnify the platform. A platform umbrella policy is being explored.
Data protection
The workspace is designed to align with SOC 2: encrypted messaging and files, role-based access and audit logs of every signature and approval.
Non-circumvention
Relationships started on Peritelos stay on Peritelos. The workspace warns when contact details are shared in messages.
Independent experts, their own licenses
Experts are independent contractors, not employees or agents of Peritelos. Each is responsible for their own licenses and works only within them. Peritelos does not provide professional, financial, investment, tax, legal or accounting advice and does not supervise experts' work.
Services not offered
Services not offered
At launch, Peritelos does not offer, and Experts may not offer through the platform: (a) attest or audit services (for example financial statement audits, reviews or other attestation engagements by CPAs); (b) legal services or legal representation; or (c) personalized investment advice by anyone who is not appropriately registered or licensed as an investment adviser (or exempt). Each Expert is solely responsible for holding and maintaining any license, registration or certification their services require.
